A Neidpath Castle Wedding
Neidpath Castle // April 2023
Nestled in the picturesque Scottish countryside, Neidpath Castle stands as a testament to centuries past. With its rugged stone walls and majestic tower, this historic fortress exudes an aura of grandeur and mystery. Stepping through its weathered gates, one is transported to a bygone era, where tales of medieval knights and noble families unravel. The castle's striking location, overlooking the meandering Tweed River, makes it the perfect wedding venue. Today it was Claire & Ruarigh’s turn to tie the knot. They booked the venue with only seeing photos online but wanted something Scottish for their guests to enjoy.
Claire and Ruarigh could hardly contain their excitement. Their smiles were contagious, reflecting their deep love and commitment to each other. Claire got ready upstairs with her family as Ruarigh was downstairs greeting guests.
Claire was walked down the aisle to meet Ruarigh and they had a beautiful ceremony with a few readings from their nearest and dearest.
After the ceremony instead of confetti they chose for their guests to blow bubbles! It looked magical! As it was a dry but bitter day (thank you Scotland) guests mingled in the courtyard for a short time whilst family photos were taken.
I then took them both to a nearby garden for a few photos before they charged their shoes and headed down the big hill to the river. Im so glad they did as this is the key shot where you can get Neidpath Castle in the background. Be warned though…getting down that big hill was not easy!
We were able to get a few photos by the river before heading back up to join the guests for drinks!
We then headed up to the gorgeous dining hall for speeches in which we heard a few funny stories about both Claire & Ruarigh.
Finally our international guests gathered downstairs for the first dance and a shot at the ceilidh! Everyone done a fab job and picked up the steps quickly.
Thanks so much for having me, what a beautiful Neidpath Castle Wedding.
