Isle of Bute Wedding
Venue: St. Blanes House, Kingarth Hotel, Isle of Bute
When I first met Maria and Kerr it was on a beach on Bute for their engagement session. They are such a fun loving and happy couple, taking photos of them was easy. I know they both put a lot of work into organising and styling their day so I was excited to join them again, this time at St. Blanes House in my hometown on the Isle of Bute. It used to be a hotel but has now been converted into a gorgeous rental where you can have all your nearest and dearest stay with you.
Kerr was getting ready downstairs with his best man and brothers.
The weather wasn’t the best for the day but as I said to Maria, this is good Scottish weather.
Maria wore a stunning kimono style wedding dress that was inspired by her time living in Japan. It was gorgeous.
We made our way to the marquee where they had a beautiful ceremony. They made their rings themselves to make the experience even more unique.
Rice was thrown in celebration!
After group photos we took a walk outside the marquee at Kingarth Hotel. The weather was still not great so I left them to enjoy their time with guests and continue photos after dinner.
We had some great stories and songs in the speeches from Kerr’s brother and best man plus a traditional Ukranian folk song fro Maria’s family.
After dinner we drove to a nearby woodland. It was still raining but the trees sheltered us. Maria and Kerr were so happy I don’t think they even noticed the rain! Maria took full advantage of showing us her dress, she looked beautiful.
Last location was at the beach. I absolutely love photographing weddings on Bute as its my hometown so I know where is best to go.
We headed back up to the marquee for first dance and for the rest of the guests to party the night away. Im actually glad it rained on this day, it added a lot of atmosphere to the photos.
Thank you Maria and Kerr for having me as their wedding photographer, it was a beautiful Isle of Bute wedding.
