Kames Castle Wedding on Isle of Bute
A Kames Castle Wedding on the Isle of Bute // June 2022
Ah what an absolutely exciting day this was! I grew up on the Isle of Bute, right next to Kames Castle. We used to sneak onto the grounds to collect conkers and get chased (sorry guys, I was young!) It is an absolute pleasure to be back for Megan & Ali’s Wedding. When they started planning their wedding they struggled to get the infrastructure over to Bute so ended up setting up their own business Marquees of Bute so now if your getting married on Bute they will sort you out with venues, tents, toilets …. whatever you need!
Anyway back to their wedding! I popped to see both Ali & Megan as they were getting ready in the cottages on the grounds.
They chose an outdoor ceremony (Thank you weather gods!) in the middle of a walled garden. Flowers arranged by Nicole at Bonnie Beaute Blooms looked stunning!
Megan was helped into her dress by her lovely Mum and did a reveal to her bridesmaids and her Papa, who walked her down the aisle.
Harpist Sophie played as Megan made her way down the aisle and fantastic Humanist Evelyn Robertson who is also a family friend conducted the ceremony. Have you ever seen a more dreamier location for a wedding ceremony?!
I rounded up guests for the longest (and prettiest) confetti tunnel ever! Then it was time for group photos.
I took Megan & Ali around the grounds, we were all in love with the late spring blooms and colours! We popped some champagne which worked out fantasticly well and guests mingled in the gardens before making their way into the marquee for speeches.
All the speeches were so funny, lots of great guest reactions. After dinner the couple cut their cake and went into the first dance. It was still light outside so we waited til a bit later for our trip to the beach.
As the sun set I drove them to a nearby beach, the dance floor was packed, I don’t think anyone noticed they were missing!
I was booked to come back a little later on for a suprise appearance from the local pipe band who Megan used to play for. At some point in the night she took to the stage for a drum solo and after that I gathered a few of the bridal party for sparklers!
And with that came to the end of my fun packed day! Honestly loved shooting this wedding so much. Thanks so much to Megan & Ali for having me - a stunning Kames Castle Wedding!!
