Carlowrie Castle: A Classic Beauty in Edinburgh
Carlowrie Castle is a stunning historic site located in the peaceful outskirts of Edinburgh. With its impressive design and well-maintained gardens, the castle is popular for events, weddings, and upscale getaways. Built in 1852, it blends old-world charm with modern comforts, offering a rich experience of Scottish heritage and architectural grandeur. Just a week after my last wedding I was back again for the beautiful day of Abby & Charles. Their day oozed luxury with gorgeous peach, soft pink and gold tones. The ceremony glasshouse looked incredible.

Charles looked so handsome in his suit. Very Classic. He waited downstairs and greeted guests as Abby got dressed.

Abbys Dad was so proud to see his daughter in that gorgeous dress and walk her down the aisle.

The decor was so unique! Abby walked down the aisle to flowers hanging over, it was lovely! They chose to have a humanist ceremony which was centred around them and how they met. As they walked back up the aisle as Husband and wife they kissed making the perfect exit!

We headed outside for confetti and then group photos. I loved the vanity fair style set up, it works so well in front of this magnificent castle.

Guests mingled in the courtyard as the marquee was set for dinner. I then took Abby and Charles around the grounds for photos. The perfect spot is always on the driveway with the castle behind you.

These two were so natural in front of the camera, I loved Abby’s updo ponytail and cape - what a gorgeous combo!

Charles & Abby danced there way into the marquee with guests clapping. They look their seats for speeches. We had a beautiful song written for the couple to kick things off, then we heard from Abby’s Dad, Charles and Charles Best Man and Brother who gave us some funny stories about Charles.

Now one of my favourite bits at weddings has to be….singing waiters! It happens when everyone least expects it. A waiter falls over on the dancefloor…everyone panics and runs to help and the waited jumps up and starts singing. It’s such a fun idea to get the party started.

After dinner, I took the happy couple around to the gardens for a few more photos. We didn’t get the sunset we were looking for but the castle just makes it magical!

It was then time for the evening festivities with the cake cutting, first dance and then all the guests joined them of the dance floor to party the night away. Thanks so much for having me at your gorgeous Carlowrie Castle Wedding.
