Dogs at Weddings
Dogs at Weddings
Day 2341 in lockdown.. How are we all doing? I have now had to reschedule my own wedding…again! so Im all with you on the stress of organising and not knowing what is going on. So I thought I’d cover a topic that brings a little joy into our lives…dogs!! and how to have them participate at your wedding. Im a huge dog fan and with two little dachshunds we desperately want them to be part of our day but how?
As we know dogs can either be excited or anxious when surrounded by a lot of people so we have decided just to have them there for the ceremony and photos and then have a dog sitter collect them and take them overnight. That way they can be part of the day but we are not stressed out making sure they are ok all the time. Plus Im pretty sure they will not be happy with the band later on in the evening.
These couples had their dogs just come along for photos with their doggy sitter.
Outdoor country weddings makes it easier for your dog to stay all day maybe with rest breaks in a room so they don’t get too overexcited.
Some hotels will let your dog stay in the room and you can bring them in and out as needed.
Ultimately make sure someone else is in charge of your dog all day so you’re not worrying about them. If it’s a hot day don’t keep them out too long and make sure they don’t get stressed out in a new environment. Following guidance, keeping your dog happy will help you get some amazing photos as they are part of the family.
